FIX Consulting can help you understand and develop a plan and program to lead you into the new brave world of management of your "fourth utility" and the recommissioning process.
FIX Consulting can be your program manager, commissioning agent and your facility Architect for the facility side of your IT enterprise. We manage the commissioning process of your existing facility or facilities in regards to" Facility Nodes" and the commissioning and continuous commissioning of your new facility or facilities.
The process is as follows:
Step 1 - FIX Consulting, LLC, a Totus Company, can help you assess and work with your existing technologies including your current building automation supplier and others that supply "Facility Nodes" to your facility or facilities.
Step 2 - We then bring together your IT professionals and your facilities professionals to map out a plan that will help incorporate technology into the commissioning process.
Note: IT professionals may or may not be part of this process.
Step 3 - We then work with you to develop a budget and in a cost analysis to determine the best way to incorporate technology to save money for reduction of energy or increased comfort and safety for your facility or facilities
Step 4 - We breakout all costs and use a completely open book analysis of benefits and costs and then program manage within the budgets for a completely open, integrated and successfully implemented facility or facilities.
Who Is watching what Facilities Nodes?
Your Facility Nodes can include IT Backbone,
Building Automation, Security, Fire Alarm, Life Safety, IAQ (Indoor Air
Quality), Lighting Controls, Energy Metering and Monitoring, Equipment
Interfaces including HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, Terminal Units such as
VAV, Fan Powered Boxes, Heat Pumps, Computer Room Units (CRAC),
Maintenance Management, Card Access, CCTV, EM Generators, Switchgear,
Protocols such as BACnet and LONWORKS, Wireless including low powered
and no power sensing and control, interfaces such as Dashboards, Web
Appliances, Real-Time XML Services, Energy Star, Real Time BIM
(Building Information Modeling), Middleware, and Global Web Interfaces
with Control and Monitoring.

As Americans are becoming more environmentally conscious, more religious groups are looking to make their worship spaces sustainable. The efforts range from small country congregations using energy-efficient bulbs to megachurches complying with complex green-building codes.
By going green, most worship buildings can cut their energy costs by 30 percent, said Jerry Lawson, of the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star Congregations program. About 2,000 of the nearly 310,000 houses of worship in the U.S. participate in the EPA program.

As the recession grinds on, some consultants are finding an emerging outlet by updating older buildings from power hogs into green stewards. The trend is attracting a fresh round of eco-savvy tenants.
Chicago is home to two large projects, examples of advancing efforts to green up existing buildings. In early December, 172 buildings nationwide were certified under the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System, a program created in 2004. More than 2,000 other buildings are seeking to obtain such certification, according to the Washington, D.C.-based group.
